Tarek Ben Yakhlef alias Tarek est né à Paris au début des années 70, Tarek ne cesse d’explorer de nouveaux horizons à
travers
l’écrit et l’image.
Scénariste, peintre, photographe, rédacteur en chef du magazine d’art urbain Paris Tonkar magazine et auteur du livre de référence sur le graffiti
français Paris Tonkar, Tarek est sans aucun doute un artiste polymorphe et inventif.
Il a écrit prés de soixante-dix livres dont certains sont devenus des ouvrages incontournables (séries BD Sir Arthur Benton et La guerre des
Gaules...), des scenarios pour l’audiovisuel en Europe et aux Etats-Unis (documentaire et fiction) et expose ses peintures dans le monde entier (Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Rennes, Bruxelles, Montréal,
New York, Genève, Zürich, Hambourg, Venise, Lodz, Prague, Athènes, Zagreb, Budapest, Kribi, Sao Paulo…).
Ses peintures ont intégré des collections de plusieurs amateurs d’art dans le monde.
Démarche
Depuis vingt ans, il travaille et réfléchit sur différentes expressions artistiques : bande dessinée, graffiti, street art, photographie, vidéo,
calligraphie arabe. Il a aussi collaboré dans de nombreuses en tant que journaliste ou auteur de BD.
Sa peinture est à la fois populaire mais sans concession, très cérébrale et réfléchie mais accessible, authentique et universelle, brute mais
construite. La bande dessinée, le graffiti, la calligraphie, le pop art, la figuration narrative et le symbolisme sont les ferments de sa production picturale.
Tarek continue l'exploration du "Masque" qu'il a initié en 2010. Il propose une version 2.0 de cette exploration qu’il définit com-me une fusion entre
tribalisme ancestral et modernité́.
Tarek synthétise plus de 10 ans de recherche au travers notamment de ses cheminements GEOMETRIK que l'on retrouve dans ses oeuvres depuis plusieurs
années. Il y associe l'universalité́ du masque et nous interpelle : est-il uniquement une forme libre du naturalisme figuratif, un objet symbolique ? Un objet décoratif ?
Sans nul doute une création plastique que Tarek transfigure en une oeuvre picturale sur toile ou sur mur faisant alors écho à l'art
pariétal.

His paintings have incorporated collections of several art lovers around the world.

For twenty years, he has worked and reflected on different artistic expressions: comics, graffiti, street art, photography, video, Arabic calligraphy. He has also
collaborated in many as a journalist or comic book author.
His painting is both popular but uncompromising, very cerebral and thoughtful but accessible, authentic and universal, raw but constructed. Comics, graffiti,
calligraphy, pop art, narrative figuration and symbolism are the ferments of his pictorial production.
Tarek continues the exploration of the "Mask" he initiated in 2010. He proposes a version 2.0 of this exploration that he defines as a fusion between ancestral
tribalism and modernity.
Tarek synthesizes more than 10 years of research through notably his GEOMETRIK pathways that we find in his works for several years. He associates the
universality of the mask and challenges us: is it only a free form of figurative naturalism, a symbolic object? A decorative object?
